Translating Success Models Intranet
Summary
A major player in the diabetes care industry asked Content Formula to help out with an internal knowledge sharing programme. Translating Success Models (TSM) aims to identify successful sales and marketing initiatives on a country-level, document them and then replicate them in other countries across the Europe, Middle East & Africa region (EMEA).
Country teams are encouraged to submit their leading initiatives according to strict guidelines to ensure only the biggest and best successes are captured. Countries teams are also asked to provide feedback on the success models that they have replicated so that learnings and metrics are tracked effectively.
The brief
- Content Formula was presented with the concept for TSM and asked to devise an intranet site to help communicate the idea behind the TSM programme, capture the success models and encourage replication of the models.
- A solution for the ongoing management of the site was also required.
The exectution
- Content Formula worked with the TSM team to fully define the objectives, processes and mechanics of TSM so that it could be translated into a working intranet site.
- We devised a simple structure for the site, keeping pages to a minimum so that staff across Europe would be able to grasp the TSM concept quickly and easily. The site was to focus on communicating the fundamentals: understanding TSM, how to submit a success model, and how to select and adopt a success model.
- We wrote all of the copy for the site, being especially careful when setting the vocabulary and terms for TSM to ensure consistency and a broad understanding with a target audience who’s first language was not always English.
- The intranet site design
- included a set of icons so that users could easily understand the classification, grading and “replication score” of success models on the site.
- In order to keep costs down and ensure compliance with our client’s intranet standards, we created the site on the client’s existing intranet platform.
- Now launched, we provide ongoing management of the TSM intranet site. We help track the success models, edit success models that have been submitted for English and consistency and publish them to the site. We also interview staff around the EMEA region and write articles about their experiences with the top models that they have replicated in their country.
- In order to drive traffic we maintain a mailing list of the target audience and send them a monthly newsletter. We write the newsletter which covers the latest submissions, replications, scores, news and announcements.
The result
- TSM has been fully integrated into the business processes of our client’s company. All sales and marketing staff are engaged in the programme with a large number of success models having been submitted and replicated.
- The TSM programme is now evolving into a second phase: having captured a large number of success models, Senior Management are keen on getting sales and marketing teams to focus on the very top success models that they have identified all the while continuing to encourage innovation through new submissions.
- The TSM programme has been its own success model! It is now being rolled out to other areas of the business, not just sales and marketing.
