This is a simple dashboards that shows top line numbers with icons to denote relative performance within the group. It's common to use traffic light symbols and colours to do this but we enjoy brainstorming more creative ways of displaying relative performance.
An existing client, a major medical devices group, wanted an interesting and creative way to inform staff of business performance relative to other countries in the region. Working with the client, we brainstormed an approach that would add some fun to a format which can sometimes be a bit dry.
Having worked on many dashboards in the past, we knew and understood that one of the main challenges is keeping them up to date – therefore, data entry had to be quick and simple. The result was this XML-driven Flash dashboard that allowed the data to be easily updated in text format, but that was displayed as weather symbols over a map of the countries in the region.
